POSITION DESCRIPTION

Supports production by maintaining production material stocking levels, performing inventory reviews, and staging material for production use.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Material Specialist 1:

  • Performs proper storage and distribution duties of composite manufacturing direct and indirect materials in support of production activities at the Hamilton facility
  • Checks and resupplies stock of chemical supply cabinets, infusion supply room, and tool room consumables
  • Operates a forklift for loading and unloading pallets safely from a truck or from shelves
  • Stages fabric on material trees for production usage
  • Stages resin and hardener drums for loading onto the pumpers and tabbing activities for production
  • Maintains stocking levels of consumable expensed items
  • Performs periodic inventory and material recounts for inventory reconciliation
  • Reviews and analyzes material forecast for direct and indirect material usage
  • Maintains stocking levels through requisitions for direct and indirect production materials
  • Cleans and maintains work area
  • Collects and processes material usage from Work Order documents for material tracking and costing
  • Maintains and performs production freezer inventory
  • Assists in maintaining organization and distribution of project owned materials
  • Performs other duties as assigned

U.S. PERSON STATUS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION PROOF OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP OR PERMANENT RESIDENCY REQUIRED DUE TO ACCESS TO SENSITIVE DATA AND OUR COVERAGE UNDER EAR AND ITAR REGULATIONS.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Some forklift experience is required; must be able to be trained and pass certification. Applicant should have previous warehousing experience. Must possess basic math skills; must be able to work independently. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language: Must possess comprehensive PC skills, including MS Office (Excel/Access/Word/PowerPoint). Must have capability to learn and use new systems. Must be able to function in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED

Fabric, resins, and various hazardous chemicals and fillers; scales/measuring devices; ladders; forklift and pallet jack

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to work in a hazardous environment; exposure to chemical fumes is common. Heavy lifting is required: must be able to move and load 220 lb rolls of fabric from pallet to fabric tree, must be able to move 500 lb drums of resin from pallets onto drum stands
