Tyler began his career at Janicki in 2016. A native of Stanwood, Washington, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University and completed a year at marine tech school.

Tyler, cell manager, stands inside a giant autoclaveTyler got his start at Janicki in mold fabrication as a production technician at our Highway 20 Facility and was later promoted to lead. From there, he moved around and ended up in his current role supervising Janicki’s autoclaves and ovens, which he described as “essentially a large pressure cooker for parts.” The cell Tyler manages is based in Hamilton and includes two autoclaves and three electric ovens. The crew’s main function is curing parts, but their work involves constant collaboration with engineers and other cells to ensure cure recipes are accurate and schedules align with production timelines.

Tyler said he feels fortunate to have worked in several departments in different roles during his time at Janicki. This variety allowed him to build relationships across the company and gain a deeper understanding of the various production processes.

His favorite part of the job is the day-to-day variety. Working in the ovens allows him to get hands-on experience with different projects and processes, which keeps the job interesting and fast-paced. When the ovens aren’t running, his team often steps in to assist other cells, from mold fabrication and hardware assembly to forklift operations.

“We have the best technicians in the world working at Janicki,” said Tyler. “They’re true professionals, and I’d put them up against anyone else in this industry.”

He describes himself as humble, dependable and hardworking, which are all qualities that have shaped his leadership style and career growth.

When he’s not on the floor, Tyler enjoys golfing and spending time with his family. He stays busy keeping up with his three young children.
