POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Program Support Engineer is responsible for organizing coordinating engineering support activities at a Janicki customer facility and directing all activities that are carried out to successfully complete an assigned project. The incumbent directly interfaces with customers to run small to mid-size projects, and supports on larger projects in the design and production of composite tooling, metallic tooling, or production parts. The incumbent follows Janicki Industries and the customers procedures, standards, and expectations. A Program Support Engineer will corrdinate and manage additional Janicki supplied support for project specific requirement at the customers facility in Charleston SC. Successful Program Support Engineer may become eligible for role advancement in the Program Management job hierarchy, with additional associated opportunities and responsibilities, at the discretion of the supervisor.
The following essential job functions are performed as a Program Support Engineer:
- Develops and executes high level and detailed project plans
- Communicates, consults with, and oversees Production and Design internal to Janicki and the Customer
- Develops and analyzes schedules and budgets as projects require
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement or risk reduction in the customers advanced composites manufacturing process
- Reports progress regularly to the customer and Janicki Management
- Performs design and drafting tasks related to the processing of a requested product
- Transforms a successful project plan into successful execution (plan, monitor, execute, close out)
- Manages other Janicki onsite support Engineers and technical team.
- Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
U.S. PERSON STATUS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION PROOF OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP OR PERMANENT RESIDENCY REQUIRED DUE TO ACCESS TO SENSITIVE DATA AND OUR COVERAGE UNDER EAR AND ITAR REGULATIONS.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Technology, or a related field is preferred. Education may be substituted with equivalent industry experience in aerospace, marine, or transportation industrial manufacturing.
- Recommend minimum of six months to 1.5 years experience as a Project Manager or Mechinal Engineer in Aerospace industry
- Must have effective graphical, verbal, and written communication skills in the English language
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software is required
- Experience with CATIA software is required

WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work at keyboard for extended periods of time. Must be able to perform physical tasks on the production floor on occasion. May involve use of tools or climbing on parts. Physical hazards such as being in the immediate area with forklifts and other heavy equipment unavoidable. Chemical hazards in production work areas unavoidable.
