Pull for Scouting

On Saturday, May 17, two teams from Janicki took aim and showed their support at the 11th annual Pull for Scouting Clay Classic, held at the Granite Falls Sportsman’s Club. The event benefits Scouting America’s Mount Baker Council and raises funds to support shooting sports programs that emphasize safety, marksmanship and fun at Scout Camp. Janicki has proudly supported this event since its inception, sending two teams of employees each year.

The competition featured sporting clays, a dynamic shooting discipline that blends elements of trap, skeet and five-stand. Participants faced a wide range of clay target challenges at varying distances, from five to 50 yards. The course included true pairs, vertical poppers, bouncing rabbits and even mini clays. Each five-person team rotated through multiple stations, with every member firing 100 rounds using 12- or 20-gauge shotguns. Every broken clay counted toward the team’s total, making for a thrilling and fast-paced event.

This year, Janicki Team 1 delivered an impressive performance, securing second place overall with a combined score of 383. Janicki Team 2 also put in a strong effort, narrowly missing the podium in a competitive field of 60 skilled participants across 12 teams. The day concluded with a delicious barbecue lunch and raffle prize drawings.

A big thank-you goes out to everyone who participated and supported this meaningful cause. Events like this help keep scouting traditions strong, and Janicki is proud to be part of it.
