This summer, Janicki welcomed interns from universities across the country for a 10–12-week program that reached well beyond engineering. Interns joined teams in engineering, production, IT, supply chain, and more. Within their teams they were integrated directly into work rather than kept on the sidelines. They took on real projects, collaborated with experienced employees, and enhanced their skillsets. Each experience was shaped around the individual’s strengths and interests giving them room to explore and contribute in meaningful ways.

Coffee and Donuts Kickoff

Janicki opened the summer with a Coffee and Donuts event, the first time the full group of interns came together. The morning gave interns the opportunity to hear from two guest speakers who had recently been in their shoes. Both spoke about what the work is really like and how an internship can grow into a career. The overall message set the tone for the summer: an internship at Janicki is more than a summer job, it is a starting point.

Leadership Meet and Greets 

Over the course of the summer, Interns sat down with members of Janicki’s leadership to hear their career journeys and ask questions. Conversations ranged from how they got their start in the industry to navigating career decisions and the moments that shaped their paths. The sessions gave interns candid access to years of industry experience and practical guidance for their own careers.

End of Summer Intern BBQ

We closed out the summer with an end-of-summer intern BBQ, a chance for interns to share a meal, swap stories from their projects, and celebrate the work they accomplished. They also had the opportunity to hear CEO Peter Janicki share about his journey from Logging to Aerospace Manufacturing. He gave amazing leadership advice and opened up the floor for interns to ask questions. It was a fitting way to mark how far the group had come in a single summer and provided guidance for their future endeavors.

Building Connections Beyond the Workplace

Beyond projects and events, the 2026 class build connections that went past the workday. Teams welcomed interns to activities outside of work, from outings like mountain biking to team lunches and get-togethers. These moments turned a summer job into a community and helped interns feel like part of the team from the start.

As they head back to campus this fall, the 2026 interns leave Janicki with new skills, a clearer view of the industry, and connections that will outlast the summer, ready to take the next step into their careers.
