Janicki Industries, a Tier 1 aerospace and defense composites manufacturer, today announced that Richard D. Taylor has joined the company as chief accounting officer. Taylor brings nearly 30 years of financial leadership experience in aerospace, defense and government contracting, most recently as chief accounting officer of MAG Aerospace in Fairfax, Virginia.

In his new role, Taylor will lead Janicki’s accounting and financial reporting functions and help build the financial infrastructure to support the company’s growth across its Washington, Utah and Montana operations.

Before joining Janicki, Taylor led a team at MAG Aerospace across corporate treasury, financial reporting, tax, government compliance and shared services.

Taylor previously served as corporate controller at MITRE, where he directed the company’s global finance organization, and as senior vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer at ICF International (Nasdaq: ICFI). He also spent 16 years in executive finance roles at Science Applications International Corp., where he oversaw financial reporting. He began his career in public accounting in Anchorage, Alaska, including at KPMG.

His expertise includes executive financial leadership, government contracting compliance under the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Cost Accounting Standards, U.S. GAAP reporting, cash flow management and financial process optimization.

Taylor holds an MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Boise State University. He is a certified public accountant, certified management accountant and certified internal auditor.

Janicki Industries, a Tier 1 aerospace and defense composites manufacturer, today announced that Daniel J. Voorhies has joined the company as senior director of operations for its new manufacturing campus in Great Falls, Montana.

Voorhies retired earlier this year after 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, most recently as commander of the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base, where he led 4,200 Airmen, civilians and contractors responsible for a third of the nation’s Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile force.

In his new role, Voorhies will oversee day-to-day operations at the Great Falls campus, a roughly 1.6 million-square-foot facility Janicki expects will support more than 1,000 jobs within five years and 2,000 or more at full build-out.

“Dan spent 25 years leading people where the stakes don’t get much higher, and that’s exactly the kind of leadership our Great Falls campus needs right now,” said John Janicki, president of Janicki Industries. “Some of our best additions to the Janicki team recently have come out of our armed forces.”

“We hire judgment, discipline and the ability to lead under pressure, qualities Dan has in abundance,” Janicki added.

Voorhies’ Air Force career included ICBM operations and evaluation assignments, a tour on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, and senior leadership roles at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana and F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming.

As vice wing commander of the 341st Missile Wing, Voorhies oversaw an operating budget of more than $95 million, and later, as wing commander, he managed an annual operating budget of more than $160 million and oversaw assets valued at more than $6 billion. He holds a master’s degree in strategic studies from the Air War College, a master’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University.

“Great Falls has become my home, and this is a chance to help build something lasting in my community,” Voorhies said. “I spent the last 25 years leading Airmen through high-stakes work, and I’m excited to bring that same focus on people and mission to Janicki.”

Voorhies began his role at Janicki Industries in September.
